The song is Jim Morrison’s love of LA. The “Woman” is Los Angeles, which often has brush fires in the hills. When the lyric says “I see your hair is burnin’…..hills are filled with fire 🔥….” The song is dedicated to Los Angeles.

LA Woman was recorded for the last Doors album and this video was made 14 years after Morrison died by the other band members and directed by Ray Manzarek, the great keyboard player of that group. It was released in 1985 on MTV. It is Steve McQueen in a quick shot from Bullitt in the green Mustang GT. McQueen died from lung cancer when he was 50. The concert shots are from early Doors performances. I saw The Doors three times between 1967 and 1970 in Detroit. The last show was great and lasted from about 9:00 PM until after 1:00 AM.
