  There&apos;s a compounding factor too. Once your obease moving more, even walking can become painful and harder to do.

  I recently visited the US on a vacation and was suprised about how expensive the healthy food options were compared to the cheaper ones. There is still a gap here in DK, but at least to me it feels smaller. And fast food is more expensive than healthy food here in DK because of taxes targeting high-sugar products.

  You raised a good point. In 2019, I was maintaining my weight of 125 lbs. (I’m a 5’3 woman) and we went on our honeymoon to Paris and I could’ve sworn I ate uncontrollably. I come home to the US, get on the scale, and I’d LOST weight (down to 121 lbs) without trying.

  I am so glad that you mentioned car dependency. Every time I go outside, I can&apos;t unsee it and just how messed up it is. Not only is this an absolute disaster for our natural environment and wildlife. For us as people, our health and our happiness it has all been sacrificed for the sake of conveniency and for cars. It&apos;s almost impossible to build community and if you can&apos;t drive, and if you don&apos;t have a car, good luck being able to go literally anywhere by foot in a reasonable timeframe. I can only hope and spread awareness that my generation and future generations become more aware of this issue and advocate for a better public transit and other methods of transportation. ❤

  Fast food culture is out of control in the states. The way I hear some Americans talk about their fast food experiences, it&apos;s like they&apos;re discussing going out to a nice restaurant. So many of them that I have spoken with see no issue with eating at a fast food place multiple times per week, or even multiple times in one day.

  As an American, I feel like the things you said make sense. No free health care, no walking or biking opportunities to get to work and back, only cars; more detrimental additives in our foods. It’s all those things combined. I am at a healthy weight, but I have to diligently watch my diet and go to the gym for training daily (usually 2-3 hours). It’s difficult. I just wish we could get universal healthcare and I wish they would stop making our food so unhealthy.

  Grains ARE an important part of a healthy diet, but in a minimally processed form, not chemically modified and combined with tons of sugar and industrial fats.

  It&apos;s hard to get healthy when the food you&apos;re consuming is making you fat, sick, and tired. But the healthcare system we have loves it.
