A shocking number of people don't understand how unhealthy their diets are. We're living in a society that has protein drinks at Starbucks. 💀

Drink water, go for a walk and skip the single serve bag of chips.

You left out some details. First, Americans did a lot more walking throughout the day. But by the 1980s, we became more sedentary. Today, you can sit in your car for hours and then sit at a desk all day. Second, health experts began encouraging the practice of snacking. But prior to the 80s, people didn't really eat between meals. Third, the experts told us that saturated fat caused heart disease. So we shifted our diets to low fat foods. But food manufacturers realized low fat food tasted bad. So they added sugar. And because Americans became fat phobic, they decided a low fat/high carb diet was safe.

Your production quality continues to improve, the writing is somehow getting better, and you look more and more comfortable on camera. You are going places, sir.

As someone living in Japan, I find that pretty much every food is made to be healthy, even the cheap food. The walking culture of needing to go anywhere as opposed to the car culture, helps massively.

Just a cute story that connects to food preservation: when I was young, I had a land-cleaning company. We were hired to empty out an old parts warehouse, which was already pretty much empty. During the cleaning and renovation, we found in a wax paper wrapper a Twinkie that was marked for military rations and apparently meant to be sent overseas. This was one of the first Twinkies to be preserved with BHT. It was dehydrated, but other than that, it looked brand-new. Both the rats and the cockroaches failed to eat it. I realize they lowered the BHT content later on, but most shelf-safe pastries still have that same chemical in them. If neither rats nor roaches will eat this stuff, why do we people consider it safe?

We're also eating meal portioned for an agrarian caloric demand when we we don't have agrarian activity levels.

I am so glad I wasn’t the only one who thought of the meat canyon Toy Story vid when cancer was mentioned.

Thank you for adding "Not all doom and gloom" bits at the end. Because I think too many people dispair right now because they only see people explaining problems, and not enough clips on how people are fixing them.

They're small, but they illustrate that good change is also happening. And I hope you continue putting them in videos where you can.

it also helps to exercise, not saying you need to sign up for a gym, but just go on an hour long walk each day to get your body to burn off some extra calories always helps
