I discovered your channel because of your elden ring video, it's nice to see a content creator start with such high quality standards. I know how long it must take to create each video, but please don't stop, you are great at this. :)<br><br>I truly don't understand why people liked dmc5 so much, I thought it lacked the difficulty, ambiance a level design of 1 and 3, it really has its own charm and the gameplay might be super complex, but I don't think it lived up to its legacy.

One of my biggest issues with Nightmare isn’t even related to the fight: Dante’s auto target would make me constantly do a 180 and he would refuse to hit the dial. It made the fight take twice as long as it needed to because I just couldn’t damage him.

The idea that DMC is meant to be played on the hardest difficulty is validated by the fact that on Bayonetta nsic difficulty the gameplay forces you to pay attention to spacing and positioning in a way lower difficulties don't require. And dodge cancelling becomes absolutely integral. The interplay between melee range and gun range is the final element that shows o.g. Bayonetta to be the successor to DMC 1, even if it was obvious from the start.

Super happy to see people still shedding light on a classic. This was one of the first games I ever played. I was just a wee lad when this game came out and I've been playing DMC ever since. It's crazy how well this game aged considering its age. Theres alot of games that are younger that dont age as well as the first DMC. I remember when Dark Souls was the hot new game being appraised for its difficulty, but in the back of my head, I was always thinking "not as hard as Dante must die though." All-in-all, this was a good critique/retrospective of a game I think any fan of character action games, or even challenging games like the soulsborne series should check this one out and even DMC 3. Let's just not talk about DMC 2...

Man this was an absolute blast from a past. Have t thought about DMC1 in a long time,  but man I have some fond memories of this game. It was a fantastic game back in the day and felt ahead of its time. Great video man, can’t wait to see what else you produce moving forward.

Great critique! :D I found you recently through your Elden Ring videos, so it's interesting to see how this stacks up. I like how you delve into the details of the gameplay to back up your arguments instead of just going "this is cool" or "this sucks" with no real details as to how or why the way a lot of others do.<br><br>This was also quite informative in other ways, like I didn't know they changed enemy layouts and boss move sets on higher difficulties in DMC1, I thought it was just buffing enemy damage and nerfing your own. Might need to check out Hard and DMD sometime ^^;;

I think you were being a bit unfair with the first Mundus fight, like i get its not as great as other fights but i think its quite cool as a novelty in the game (have to note that this comes from someone that defends the underwater sections and the Griffon fights) and cuz its also a homage to Kamiya's favorite game (at this point i've come to respect when he references Space Harrier, he does this with every game he directs), apart from that, really great video for a very underestimated and very unique game
