  Currently there IS &nbsp;an state income tax, that was mislabeled as a &quot;Billionaires&apos; income tax&quot;. However, it is designed to &nbsp;become a general income tax in the future.<br>There is an initiative to repeal this income on the current ballot in Washington.

  I moved here when I was 10, back in 1995, when my parents and I relocated from the Los Angeles area. &nbsp;So here’s my couple of pennies as a former WA outsider.<br><br>1. Give time to adapt. &nbsp;If you’re coming from a warmer climate, prepare yourself, mentally, for 9 months straight of those gray skies and drizzle. &nbsp;It’s honestly depressing and keeps you locked indoors until you acclimate. &nbsp;I went from being the tanned and in shape CA kid, to pale and chunky in the span of fall to spring.<br><br>2. WA drivers are terrible. &nbsp;Especially, and this may sound weird, but…particularly when it rains. &nbsp;Counterintuitive, yes, but true. &nbsp;And you really need to look out for those people driving a white, gray or black car when it’s raining. &nbsp;They blend in if they don’t have their lights on.<br><br>3. It’s more expensive to live here than this video lets on. &nbsp;For instance, I made $57 an hour, and could hardly support my family of 6. &nbsp;Yes, I have a bigger family than most, but it takes roughly $130k a year to “comfortably” live in Snohomish County (north of Seattle and King County) for a family of 4. &nbsp;On top of the median home prices hovering north of $600k for a basic 3 bed 2 bath, and rent well over $2k a month for a studio or one bed apartment. &nbsp;If you don’t have a well paying job and make $150k or more in a year, you’re going to really struggle.<br><br>4. This may sound kind of pedantic, but some of the names of towns and cities are hard to pronounce, and we’ll know if you’re not from around here. &nbsp;Probably two of the hardest for new comers are Sequim and Puyallup. &nbsp;Just think of how you would say those, and understand you’re more than likely very, very wrong.<br><br>5. If you use an umbrella, that’s a dead give away you’re either a tourist or a transplant. &nbsp;Washingtonians don’t use them. &nbsp;We put on pants (sometimes), a hoodie, and just deal with it. &nbsp;If you’re not growing moss you’re not doing it right. ;)

  Hello! We will be moving to Ellensburg, my little family. Thanks for the information about the drivers license. I wouldn’t have known that. Once my daughter-in-law finishes her doctorate, our destination is Olympia. I am so excited!!! thank you for your videos.😊

  I was born and raised in King County. The day after I retired I moved to Utah. Miss the trees and ocean but not the government, politics, rain or expense of Washington.

  Can&apos;t really say Washington has no state income tax anymore though. So now it&apos;s a high sales tax, capital gains tax, and a 9.9% tax on income over $1m.

  Where is a reasonable place on the west coast of Washington to get a house with 5 acres minimum &nbsp;but still be close to a town with everything. Also I&apos;d want to be on the grid, plumbing not septic, and high speed internet. Also good schools are a plus.
