Sea sand used in the concrete. And using rebar or cable that's not treated with anticorrosion material is the second risk. Can't remember the last time I saw unprotected rebar in Canada.

I was near post tension cable when it snapped. I would never design a building using them

Saudia Arabia hires workers from the poorest areas of Indonesis. Bangladesh, etc AND the extreeme temperatures and humidity acclerate the rust.

Good program!<br>Perhaps the workers were not aware of the strict requirements for such work. <br>Corrosion is such a nasty beast.

Sounds like a better way to protect the cable is needed and a way to monitor the condition over the life of the structure is necessary to guarantee they remain structurally sound.
