  When you think of old iconic buildings in NYC you think of Empire State and Chrysler, the Flat Iron is right up there. Well done.

  When I was a youngster I worked in the Flatiron. How lovely to see it have a Renaissance.

  I love that building. I’m so glad they’ve kept it, and restored it. The US has lost so many beautiful buildings, especially in NYC. Imagine how many we could have saved of those early 20th century now-demolished masterpieces with a little ingenuity and modern know-how. Sad…

  This building is a jewel. It's been an architectural unique treasure since it was built and compares with many of the new buildings that were put up around Manhattan which are now having huge structural problems and in the case of this building it has no structural problems and I would be plopping my money down to get an apartment in it now. Remember the reason why it's set empty for so long. It was part of three aggressive developers portfolios. They each owned a third of it, one of them being the man that used to have the mall underneath the world trade center. And they all wanted to make up for lost profits with this building and none of them could agree what to do with it now. It's naturally becoming residential and you couldn't ask for more stunning location

  I had a 10 hour layover in JFK in my teens and went into NY city. Virtually the only thing I remember vividly is this iconic building. I am so glad it has a new lease on life... even if it will be empty and owned by billionaires.

  Great video. I worked in the Flatiron building for two years and the tiny, odd offices, drafty windows and poor heating and cooling are right on. The bathrooms were odd too. They alternated genders, so I had to go one flight down for a men’s room. The office at the tip of the building was so cold in winter from the wind that we all had to wear winter coats. The only bit of historic detail left inside the structure was the stairs. Sadly, everything else had long  been removed.

  Never been to New York City but always admired the Flatiron Building. What they have done with it is incredible. My favorite part is the exterior lighting at night. The crown is beautiful 👍

  The Times Square Tower suffered an even worse fate. It was not only gutted, but stripped of its stone and terracotta facade. Today, it has effectively been demolished. <br><br>In the case of the Flatiron building, while they preserved the beautiful facade, right directly across the street, they built an enormous, ugly residential tower, much bigger than the Flatiron building, that totally destroys the view. <br><br>The famous impressionist painting of the Flatiron building, how most people know it, would be impossible to paint today…
