If you enjoyed this episode, please do me a massive favour by clicking the 'like' button and subscribing to the channel. It's free and is the single biggest thing you can do to help me carry on my mission: to remind you every week that you're not broken, simply different and that you have always been enough. Thank you so much. Alex 💚

I can hardly do any task without music or a podcast to listen to anymore. Gets me through the tasks.

Perfectionism and fear of the final product definitely go hand in hand with me.

Im an RN who worked the majority of my 30+year career in NICU pediatric Cardiac ICU and Labor and delivery. I was a rock star at work but i procrastinated the smallest decisions and tasks in every other aspect of my life

I put off opening my suitcase for two months. I lost something and searched my suitcase for it. I found some clothes I had forgotten about. It was like Christmas!

Does anyone else experience the phenomenon of working on a project, like a piece of art, and stopping once the project is nearly complete? Not because your dopamine ran out, but because you have built a relationship with the art and its process, so finishing it would cause a sense of grief and loss. If you walk away from it, the fact you can always go back to that project stops any grief process you might go through.

This video makes me cry because my father used to say I was lazy and I just couldn’t help it!  I am so self deprecating!  I was devastated when I was diagnosed with dyslexia as an adult (21) but I was shocked when I was told that I had a very high IQ!  I now think I have ADHD too!  My brother and his children both have ADHD  and my niece is so much like me!

I don't feel good completing tasks on a to do list: I feel good simply having a to do list.

Having ADHD myself, it has always felt like a constant inner battle with my inner child who refuses to comply.

As a late diagnosed ADHD (diagnosed at age 34, currently age 35) woman who has always struggled with perfectionism, procrastination, and overthinking, this hit hard for me. Thank you!
