  Not so long ago, a Youtuber and independent mechanic gave some prick a quote for some extensive repairs and the &quot;customer&quot; said he was getting robbed and huffed away and got an estimate for $3000 more at another shop. Well, he left such a bad taste &nbsp;and attitude, that when he came back begging for the repairs, the owner said to go pound sand and never come back. Some people need to get fired.

  I believe most all dealerships pull things like this trying to scam business &nbsp; Most techs are younger and parts changers

  I’m a heavy diesel mechanic heavy equipment mechanic 40 years experience. I have had people come to me with something that needed repaired. I evaluated what needed to be done. Told them this is what I think I can do this for and have you up and running within this timeframe. Customer says but this other shop says they can do it for this much less. My answer cool let them do it. But I’m warning you that they don’t stand behind their work very well and generally take a long time to complete the work needing done. And most of the time &nbsp;that customer has come back saying I was right and they should have listened and not fallen for the lower initial quote that ended costing quite a bit more. Because of add on once they had the vehicle or equipment disabled then the extended down time factored in. The low quote is not usually the deal you want.
