That Steeda pulley for the alternator was for a 135 amp standard alternator. This CV uses a Police alternator which is rated at 200 amps. The reason for the decoupler pulley is not for economy or smoothing out pulses on the belt into the crankshaft as it is for most everything else - it's there because the armature in the alternator has so much mass that on rapid engine deceleration (as in wide open throttle transmission upshifts) will make the belt squeal due to the mass on the armature - and in extreme cases the belt can actually be thrown off in these scenarios. The decoupler pulley allows the armature to freewheel when engine RPM is below the alternator speed, preventing the belt squeals, chirps or even removal.
