  there is only one solution, produce a control child with no exposure to star wars and make them watch all the movies at age 25

  Another difference between the Prequels and the Sequels is that Lucas film did not stop producing prequel era content after the prequel movies came out, but it feels like they have stopped producing sequel era content now that the films are done.<br><br>Like, when the prequel movies finished, there was a cartoon set in the era, most of the toys were prequel, and half of the expanded media (comics, books, etc) were prequel era. I actually remember older fans complaining about this at the time.<br><br>Now look at the star wars after the sequels... Most of it was set before the sequels. We see content from the high republic all the way up to the mandalorian era, but not a lot set during the sequel era. <br><br>It really does feel like, at times, that Disney has abandoned the sequel era and I can see that coming in the way of a future nostalgic response.

  I totally agree with your take that there wasn’t a “reevaluation” so much as a new demographic. But I’d also like to posit a “vibes” difference that might make the movies a lot harder to be viewed by those that grew up with them compared to the prequels:<br><br> a major difference is what the prequels and sequels feel like: the prequels, despite being just as much a product of a massive billion dollar machine as the sequels, specifically had the problem of “everyone said yes to George Lucas over and over again until he was done with his movies” to the point of it accidentally becoming a bit of an auteur project. This makes for a much more interesting failure than the seemingly endlessly focus-tested and sterile (ironically considering the aesthetics of both) feeling of the sequels.

  Frankly, i dont know if the sequels will experience the same effect simply bc i dont know if it has left such an impression on a lot of kids. The sequels were so aimed at older generations that i feel like it might not have resonated with younger audiences to the same extent the previous trilogies did with their generations.<br>Also, that False Dmitry reference was insane

  as a kid my favorite star wars movie was revenge of the sith because it had the most lightsaber fights and I can confirm that my tastes have not changed into my adulthood

  I don&apos;t think you can underestimate the impact of the Clone Wars had on the impression fans had of the prequels either. I&apos;ve seen plenty of fans say that they consider The Clone Wars a must watch just because it makes Revenge of the Sith a better movie for having all that added back story to Anakin&apos;s fall.

There has been plenty of time for additional sequel era content, but there&apos;s been almost none. For kid star wars fans growing up in the disney era, when they move beyond the films almost all of the current major spin off material redirects them towards the prequel and OT eras.<br><br>Animation is mostly prequel era, live action shows and games mostly OT era. Disney did try with Resistance after Rebels but it flopped and they course corrected to the more &quot;popular&quot; eras.<br><br>The Sequel era has more or less been completely left to die on the vine. There doesnt seem to be much motivation at all to expand on the sequels.

  Ive got a cousin who was 4 when the sequels came out. Hes one of those kids whose entire personality revolves around star wars. While he doesnt absolutely hate the sequels he would rather watch the prequels or original trilogy any day.
