I walked by my wife while the clip was playing through my phone and she said "why does that sound so bad." Thanks for making these videos!

I had my entire (bootlegged) album collection (300+) on Maxell XL2-90s back in the day. Sony was the Walkman king back then.

I don't think there will ever be a device better than the one in its prime...

Was hoping this one was going to be a winner, but yikes!
I recently picked up a cleaned/serviced Walkman from days gone and after seeing this, really glad I took the vintage route.

I had an Aiwa portable as well, auto reverse, good speed and stablity! I have Maxell UDXL IIs that I recorded on my Nakamich 600II from as long ago as1979 that still sound very good!

When I left my parents' house, I was left without a cassette deck and only had my Walkman to continue listening to my extensive collection of cassette tapes.

I had already transferred many of them to MiniDisc and also used those.

I used to connect the Walkman to my stereo system... until it started to malfunction a few years ago and I looked for a replacement on the second-hand market.

The search for a decent Walkman (which are very expensive) led me to find many cassette decks at very good prices. After buying an excellent Technics RS-X502 double cassette deck for €25, I later found a Pioneer CT-W706DR at a great price, which is the one I currently use and I am happy with its playback and recording quality.

I also bought a Sony WM-EX615 and EX610 Walkman that were sold to me broken, and I am still looking for someone who can repair them for me.

I have given up on Walkmans. I don't use cassettes on the go, and a cassette deck is a thousand times better in quality.

That's a real lead balloon, shocking considering Maxell is owned by Hitachi, I was looking forward to seeing how good it would be because of that, but it hasn't even got an anti-rolling mechanism, an essential part of a personal cassette player.

I think what really needs to be released is a classic looking Walkman that provides the best analog audio experience, the level that has been achieved in the early 1990s for today’s enthusiasts who prefer sound quality over fancy designs and sly campaigns.

I don't miss cassettes, even though Maxell did make some of the best blank tapes. I'll keep my discman...

There is a brand in China called Panda , they have launched the new cassette player model W10. Maybe it worth you to spend time to try and test it.

I got a cheap casette player which sounds good to me and I was mainly born in 1981. But I do like the USB rechargeable feature and the ability to make a tape casette converted to mp3 so I can have multiple songs into four SDs as a back up and the convenience of not needing a internet connection
