  Soon after a frantic rescue mission to free any sailors trapped in air pockets, Shortly after Tirpitz capsized, parties of sailors climbed onto the hull and painted marks on locations where they heard signs of life. But metal cutting torches were not avaliable so the rescue was delayed. But in the end 87 sailors were rescued from the wreck.

  After the sinking of Tirpitz, dozens of Germans came running up to the house of my great-great grandma. She gave them food and blankets. They thanked her and left. Days later they returned with 100kg og wheat and food. No matter the beleif of someone, a life is a life.

  I visited the wreck site a couple of years ago when I was on a road trip through Norway. The wreck wasn&apos;t visible above the surface but I could still see the craters in the beach from the bombs that missed

  I can see from my home where the Tirpitz capsized, around 5-6km away. Outside of Tromsø, Norway
