  Something a lot of obsessed IP driven fandoms have to accept, is that while it's true companies will try to milk a franchise to the last drop just for profit, they too, play a part in things getting worse by not knowing when it's time to move on, by not accepting that it's ok for things to end, instead they just keep consuming the same stuff over, and over and over again even if they hate it.

  Don&apos;t worry, the actual fans will keep it alive. I don&apos;t trust the modern audience nor triple A studios to develop a game, but there are dozens of passionate fan projects that give official halo a run for their money, and they&apos;re all free.<br><br>Riddle me how they&apos;re doing better with the budget of a subway sandwich while a hundred million dollars get you an outsourced mediocre game that cost 60-80$

  Halo isn&apos;t dead, Master Chief is. There are plenty of new stories to be told, where &quot;innovative&quot; gameplay (read: doesn&apos;t play like Halo) would be fine, even welcomed. I mean, Halo Wars did great. People have wanted a ODST 2 or a game where you play as a marine for a long time. <br><br>343i/Halo Studios failed by trying to continue Chief&apos;s story, when even Bungie understood his arc was over. He saved humanity, ended the covenant, stopped the Flood, destroyed the Rings, it&apos;s over. He did it all. He&apos;s lost in space. Bungie&apos;s last 2 Halo games weren&apos;t even about Master Chief, because they knew his story was done. So we got ODST and Reach. Instead of understanding &quot;Halo isn&apos;t dead, but Master Chief is gone&quot;, 343 tried to bring chief back in the worst way. <br><br>Activision doesn&apos;t even have to wipe any of the lore from Bungie, 343, or otherwise. While I&apos;d personally like them to start over at the end of 3, and just leave Chief lost in space, just get AWAY from MC and tell ANY other story from the Halo universe. There&apos;s still stuff before Reach we could do, things in between the games, the background events of any of the games, ANYTHING.
