As much as I absolutely love this movie, the best part is watching other people watch it for the first time.

The final joke is how long you stick around waiting for an ending that never comes.

"Are we going to sit here for 3 minutes and literally stare at a blank screen?" EVERYBODY DID! This movie was a pisstake on everything we expect from a movie: certainty, closure, rationality, revenge, justice; basically everything we are conditioned to want. Timelessly brilliant British dry humor.

There are two types of people. Those who are mad at the end of this movie, and those who laugh.

Considering how off the wall most of the movie was, this ending is pretty fitting.
