I put 30kw a day into my battery using globirds 3 hour free window. DC coupled solar adds to the 30kw and any ac use in the house during the free hours is on top of that. Just need to make sure you don't limit the battery charge rate to grid power during those 3 hours.

When i doubled the size of my battery when the subsidy came in, I did add as many more panels as i was allowed to.
But my issue was my roof only gets good sun until about 11 am for two months or so in mid winter due to trees to the north, so it was a worry.

If the larger array hadn't been able to keep my batteries charged, My fall back would have been replacing the 15 year old resistive hot water system with a heat pump, it can't last much longer anyway.

But i was happy to find out I am still putting 4 or 5kWh a day back into the grid mid winter most days.

There was a couple of strings of really wet overcast days, a couple of times my battery did only manage to back into the high 90's. But that was never more than one day, always able to hit that 100% mark on the third day. We are blessed in SE Qld with our winters being our dry season, and usually mostly cloud free.

Most of this year has been overcast in SEQ - not a lot of rain since March but not helping having a 13KW solar system producing ~400w at any particular time. When the day is sunny the battery charges in 4-5hrs but if getting less than 1kw from 13kw of panels would need 4-6 times the number depending on panel capacity. And sadly not in the area to get the new free 3hrs though wouldn't want to see the service charge for it given my service charge went up 6% in July!!!

I do not understand the premise of the battery not being fully recharged each potential day, does a 30% recharge damage your battery? ie: accelerate SOH degradation. For 8 months of the year my 40kw battery will hover between 40 to 90%, for 4 months of the year it will be 2O to 60%, When government subsidies were at their max, economies of scale and Roi would always suggest the bigger the battery the better; particularly when you take on board the estimated battery soh life cycles, that is the harder the battery works each day the lesser life it has. You guys are smart so a response would be appreciated.

Please explain to people that invertor is not quite the bottleneck you suggest. I have 10kw on the roof. I have 48kwh Sig stack with a 10kw hybrid inverter. This does not mean I can only charge the battery at 10kw per hour. I can charge at up to 20kw per hour when I download free grid energy during middle of the day and the sun is shining.

Batteries don't fill up, they charge or discharge, wrong use of battery terms.
