When Kurt was asked by Al if he could parody the song, Kurt asked him if it "would be another parody about food." Weird Al responded with "no it will be a parody about how no one can understand your lyrics" Kurt said yes because he thought it was a genius idea.

I heard when Nirvana first saw this version playing in the background they thought it was Smells Like Teen Spirit. When they saw it the second time Nirvana loved it so much Kurt called Al up to praise him

Kurt was backstage on the floor laughing and crying. He loved the song. Plus Nirvana sold millions of ALbums because of AL

When Weird Al said “never mind” in the last verse, one should note that Smells Like Teen Spirit was on the album Nevermind.

He does the water gargling on stage when he performs this song. His live shows are awesome.

Nirvana said we're now famous because weird Al did us.

His lyrics aren't any less understandable than the original. The man is a genious.

space for rent: it’s either of your interpretations. He can be seen as empty headed so someone else ought to rent the space since he’s clearly not using his brain, or you can use his bald head as advertising space since he doesn’t need the surface for hair 😏

Legend has it that Madonna herself suggested, "Like a Surgeon" to "like a Virgin". It was said back in the day, you never really made it until weird Al hit you.

Fun fact: this video was shot at the same location and with most of the same extras as the original. Weird Al went all out for this. Tony Hawk is in it, also, right behind Dick Van Patten. What a legend is Weird Al, and how lucky are we to be alive at the same time?

Weird Al is a genius. This tops anything he's ever done. It's brilliant, funny and loaded with easter eggs..
