  I understand my mother&apos;s trauma and have a level of empathy for her, but I also acknowledge that she hasn&apos;t put any effort into changing to be a better parent and person. Going no contact and blocking her was one of the hardest and most painful things I&apos;ve ever done, but it&apos;s ultimately an act of kindness for myself to remove someone from my life who has hurt me since she birthed me.
