  I’ve always known my mother hates me. I could sense it early on. She never once complimented, praised, or encouraged me. I grew up feeling like a massive burden. Now I tell my daughter every single day how capable, strong, smart and beautiful she is. It comes naturally to me. I will never understand resentment towards your own flesh and blood that you chose to bring into this world.

  When I got my drivers license at 16, my mom was making comments about my weight to the old man at the DMV about “oh she’s only 16 and weighs as much as I do..” the man said “uh ma’am, she’s also 5 in taller then you. You’re 4’11”<br><br>My mom shut her mouth so fast!!!

  My mom blamed my sister when she was assaulted too, meanwhile my mom was allowing her to associate with and date boys who were in high school when she was still in middle school as if that wouldn&apos;t put her in danger

  This is so wild, as a Latina mum I don&apos;t understand past generations. My daughter is 17 and last week she went to a concert with her friend and she put on make-up for the first time at her friend&apos;s house and sent us a photo, we hyped her up so much, she is already beautiful but the make-up made her feel extra beautiful and confident. So tomorrow we are going shopping for make-up 🌸it&apos;s super heartbreaking knowing that so many girls live in the same house as their bully.

  If you “don’t want your daughter to look better than you” first of all wouldn’t it be a compliment to have others think your daughter looks pretty? Shes 50% YOU after all. Second of all, just put more effort into your appearance then? It’s not her fault you don’t put as much effort in as her

  My 11 year old daughter is taller than I am. She still looks like a child though. <br><br>I tell my daughters how smart they are, how lovely they are, how strong they are, how brave they are. I struggle to tell them how pretty they are because they look like me and it feels weird. &nbsp;My self esteem has grown because of my love for them. If they&apos;re pretty, I must not be a hag. Certainly not competing, but they win. ❤
