Just diagnosed with ADHD this week.
I have been raw-dogging my ADHD symptoms for 54 years and am, frankly, (after looking back) bewildered at how on earth I’m still here!
I am, however, still here.

I’m a late diagnosed autistic. I knew I was ADHD, but realizing I’m actually AUDHD it’s been so liberating. I’m really trying to let myself unmask and learn how to advocate for my rights. Everyone has the right to be who they really are.

Am I the only person who believes that ADHD should be “re-branded”? — ADHD It’s so much more than just attention deficit: Is also high sensory sensitivity, emotional diaregulation, rumination, social challenges, etc.

If you ask me, I can pay attention very well, if I’m actually interested. This is why we are so good at niche stuff.

80yr old and finally so much makes sense. A good life but it would have been much, much better to have known.

Kate understands me to my core and I have never met her. THE BEST speaker I have ever heard on neurodivergence. I will certainly seek out her podcast. Thank you so much!

thank you to the guest for actually acknowledging the PHYSICAL health issues. So many only bang on about ‘mental health’.

My definition of neurodivergence is constantly being in discomfort on a daily basis.

Late diagnosed, 7 months ago, at 45, but I knew I have ADHD for about a year, I think.
It's been a life of challenges and suffering, and I hoped my diagnostic would be the end of it.
WRONG.
I am fighting against every doctor, psychologist, psychiatrist that I consult. Constantly reminded that if I "lived successfully for 45 years with it, it can't be so hard."
I am so fed up with doctors gaslighting, sooo discouraged by the world and people around me. Nobody's listening.
Be brave, you all, I won't give up, but the fight is constant and long...

I am 64 and self-diagnosed, I have multiple chronic health issues, fybro CPTSD and chronic fatigue. I watch all of these podcasts and identify with everyone. If it is sad to only discover yourself at 43 imagine waiting until you are 64 and have only just realised what you are capable of but don't have the energy to fulfil it. The gaslighting by family and doctors is real and continuous. However, my brain entertains me and I have crazy pareidolia so I am never alone. I'm great at going out alone and meeting people in a crowd, which so many people find hard. As long as I can leave in a nanusecond without having to say goodbye, I'm fine! :planet-orange-purple-ring::rocket-red-countdown-liftoff:

My therapist explained that late autism diagnoses often follow abrupt life changes—like a new job, moving, loss, or illness—that heighten challenges.
