In the book, Dan’s shine reveals that Abra’s mother is his half-sister by Jack, so he really is “Uncle Dan” after all.

The guy in the baseball boy scene who says "It's like he can read the pitcher's mind" is Danny Lloyd who played Danny Torrance in the original Shining.

Not enough people talk about this movie, it's a MASTERPIECE. The story, the acting, the recreation of the iconic locations while still making it new and not fully relying on nostalgia, it's one of my favorite movies ever

Rebecca Ferguson’s performance in this should have been Oscar nominated, she’s incredible as Rose the Hat.

Rebecca Ferguson as Rose The Hat is my secret delight villain in the last decade, she’s just the right amount of quirky in a terrifyingly unhinged way😍🎩

In the book, there is a perfect summary of the power difference between Dan and Abra. Dan is a flashlight, Abra is a lighthouse.

Something they kind of skipped over in the movies is that Danny's middle name is "ANTHONY". "Tony" is a shorted version of that. In the book, "Tony" was DANNY in the future trying to warn little Danny of things that were coming. Basically, Danny was talking to himself from the future.

Jacob Tremblay's performance as the baseball boy traumatized the other actors, and after they called cut, he just got up like nothing happened..

The fact that the stand-ins who played Wendy, Jack, Danny and Halloran don't take the viewer out of the scene is such a rare accomplishment for movies who had to replace the original actors. I applaud Flanagan, production crew and most importantly the cast.

Mike Flanigan is a big King fan, and really shows his respect for his work, while also paying homage to Kubrick's vision.

The great thing about this movie is that it's a sequel to both The Shinning book AND the movie. Even though Stephen King hated the movie version of it, Flannagan weaves elements from both sources into this one.
