  I found a Technics SL-PD665, 5 disk tray CD player, brand new, no box and no remote. Plays perfectly, found a remote on eBay. $9.99 at a thrift store.

  Man, your videos are more entertaining than most of the music I have :)<br>That&apos;s a nice machine, I&apos;m so glad you got it working. I only have my 33-year-old Philips CD920 player, it&apos;s the only CD player I&apos;ve ever had. I got it when I was 16 because it&apos;s a single-disc tray type player, I chose it because it was on sale and I expected it to be able to fixable. I was right, I&apos;m 49 now and it still works :)

  If i may interject. I used to work on these things back in the day and tons of them... being i worked for a factory authorized center from the mid 80&apos;s on... I see you did the relubing, &nbsp;cleaning the lens.. changing capacitors but i did not see you change any of the belts. I kept saying to your video over and over again... change the belts!!!!! This is often a 1st go to in any cd mech, especially ones where you hear the motor run and is stuck. Slipping belts is one of the most common failure points in any cd player. It would have been my 1st go to.. everything else a 2nd. Also with CD players especially ones that dont read correctly... after cleaning the lens.. the next go to is the service manual and a scope is needed to observe the eye pattern and then the rest of the adjustments need to be done... RF, focus gain and offset, tracking gain and offset and any clock frequency tuning adjustments that may have drifted over time. Most players have &quot;service mode&quot; to aid in these adjustments. This will often resolve slow read times and skipping issues. Capacitors are not really known to be issues in these players. some may drift but usually not enough to cause issues. Most issues are mechanical, belts, lube, switch contacts, and optics...

  I love when a thrift store find is actually good. I grabbed a JVC tape deck off goodwill for 12 bucks. Just needed some belts. I made sooooo many mix tapes recently with that.

  I would have changed the belts anyway, when they get old, they stretch. &nbsp;I thought my belts were fine and my player would act up. &nbsp;Finally, I just changed the belts and wow did it work so much better and no longer any acting up.

  I love the washing of the faceplate for some reason. Just very satisfying.
