  I'm not a huge fan of the overly complex design on these modern receivers, but I've got to give Marantz credit for that service manual. We need more of those in this world.

  When you know that the company cared enough to put those nearly fully detailed circuit diagrams in a proper searchable service manual, it makes the price much more acceptable.

  Nice to see a young guy with actual talent and skills in electronic diagnostics. I’m really shocked how many on YouTube that’s big by having no brain parts cannon and just swaps from something working until it’s fixed.

  If it was a 50 lb beast from back in the day I would put the time into it, but not that unit in my personal opinion, however, the learning experience is priceless!

  Stumbled in on your video. I do a fair amount of 'vintage' amplifier restoration/repair as a retired pro-equipment service tech for friends & word-of-mouth. I am really impressed how Marantz has provided such a high quality advisory fault find assistance in the service manual with this unit. I am more used to working off a really bad scan .pdf of a free original schematic diagram & zero other help so you really have to call on your deep knowledge to get things done.  All that said fantastic effort going in so deep on this unit that plainly folks had given up on. You're a great tech! Subscribed!

  Marantz apparently uses really good caps.  I picked up a SR9200 from 2002 with the L and R channels out.  Otherwise it worked.  Upon testing, it has external inputs to the amplifier and the L/R channels worked just fine using those.  Investigating further the signal was not making it past the input board.  About 3 hours of resoldering of the input board and main board it came fully back to life.  I'm still using it 3 years later.

  Thank you for another great video. Love your calm demeanor and logical approach yo troubleshooting.  Was very impressed with the service manual for this unit. FWIW I think the S is meant for Surround not Side left:right channels. Keep up the great work.
