  Lived in Miami for over 16 years. The last three years have been brutal. Rents have skyrocketed. I finally reached a breaking point and left.<br><br>I went back to my home town, far away. What I was paying weekly for rent in Miami, is what I pay MONTHLY in my home town now. I&apos;m not even exaggerating.<br><br>Also, people in Miami are beyond superficial. The most superficial and rude group of people I&apos;ve ever met; genuinely awful and rude people. <br><br>I never lost my manners though and I&apos;m now surrounded by kind, wholesome and humble people.<br><br>I&apos;ll never go back to South Florida again.

  Florida insurance &amp; property taxes have gone through the ROOF! Its not worth it anymore

  Traffic around Ft. Lauderdale and Miami is insane. I don’t like to drive there. Cops need to crack way down on it.

  In 3 years my insurance for the house nearly tripled as did my property tax. Nothing cures the &quot;Florida dream &quot; better than living in Florida.

  I.loved Florida. I always will.18 years....everything got way to hard<br>The property taxes too high..the insurance..too high..the bill too high...then lost my job..had to move..im now with my older daughter in Arkansas...i still miss the warm weather 😢

  If you own with no mortgage &nbsp;don&apos;t buy insurance. Save the money for ten years and be self insured. &nbsp;Just buy a fire extingusher and do your own yard maintance so a tree won&apos;t fall on your house in a wind storm.

  This is pretty much why we stopped looking in Florida. &nbsp;Increased HOAs, increased property taxes, overpricing, increased insurance; it&apos;s not worth it for us. &nbsp;We&apos;re paid off in Tennessee, it&apos;s about a day trip to Florida for a weekend here and there. &nbsp;But we can easily afford it!
