I moved to Sarasota in 1987.  The difference between then and now is truly difficult for anyone who hasn't witnessed it to comprehend.

As a native Floridian,  it's truly sad and disgusting to see what's happening to our state. Over development destroying the very beauty that attracted people to Florida. The only ones that benefit are developers and politicians that approved it.

Tampa area has a bigger population now than the whole state when I was born here.  Growing up back then really was "the good old days".

I was born in Bradenton and have lived in Myakka City my whole life. I am 29 years old and what has happened within the last decade is absolutely astonishing.

Tampa bay isn’t just unaffordable for a home. You need to make $80+ a year just to rent and live by yourself. In 2017 I only paid $750 a month for a 2 bedroom. Now they want $2400 for the same place.

Sarasota here, and yep nothing but traffic, everything overcrowded, and just now trying to improve infrastructure…way too late for that
