私も40年前にエンジンの設計をやっておりましたので、懐かしく見せていただきました。当時の鍛造型の製造には、黒鉛棒を設計図通りに職人が削り、それを雄材(電極)として型鋼に押し付け約10日ぐらいかけて型を製造していました。今は、NCの精度と3DCADにより、加工具の工程設計もできますので、ずいぶん早く製造できるようになったのですね。動画は、4気筒ですので6000トンプレスで当時もやっていましたが、V型6気筒のエンジンのクランクシャフトの場合は最終工程でツイスターで60度に曲げるので、その時は10000トンのプレスでやっていました。その後、再度 焼きなましと焼き入れです。T社さんは、メインベアリングの部分で3つ程度に分けたものを接合する方法でやっていました。大量生産には適した方法ですが、F1などの限界性能を使いながら10時間以上の耐久性を持たせるにはピース接合方式ではだめでした。 懐かしゅうございます。

For those wondering what the point of the green fluid or "magnetic particle inspection" was for, it's a method to test if there are any defects in the crankshaft. If there were any hairline cracks/fractures, the inspector would see it via the UV light

You know it's a nice shop when they have pneumatic winch to lift single crankshaft. In third world country it would be a guy in sandals lifting them up.

As an automotive supplier quality manager, I would give a postive sourcing recommendation to this manufacturer. We didn't even see the finest details of their process and they already convinced me of their methods.
