  The A.I. picture used as the thumbnail is a riot! If you’ve never machined anything, you may think it’s fine, but if you have, you’ll either laugh your butt off, or get the night terrors from it.<br><br>There’s no question that the bearings in the live center are shot. I don’t understand why they don’t replace it. It looks like a Morse 5 size. They could get a cheap one, even a used one would be far better than that junk they’re using now.<br><br>Ah, we can see in the threading, that they replaced the bad center with a good one. Likely before they got to the threading.<br><br>Its removed very carefully from the machine to avoid marring the surface as they fail to pry it off the part held in the chuck, so they throw it on the filthy dirt floor.

  After working all my life as an engineer and worked many very large lathes in my time I have never seen so rough work in all of my life.what they say rough as a badger.but if you don’t have the better technology and conditions what can you expect.you just have to make do with what you have got .lot of respect for the lads working in those conditions.

  Nessuna meraviglia. Nel periodo 1920-1940 in Germania, Italia, Gran Bretagna, Giappone eccetera si tornivano canne di cannone oltre i 30 metri e si realizzava la rigatura interna in diametri di oltre 300 millimetri.
