I had one of these as a kid, a upgrade from the mini-trail 50 I had. I remember my dad paid $389.00 for it brand new in 1972. I rode that thing on our farm thousands of miles, plus riding it the 6 miles to and from school every day on dirt roads. I miss those days.

That is the first time, at my old age, I have ever seen a timing light used on a motorcycle. I learned something new.

This guy is the best mechanic I ever ! Never throw tools on the floor. For a small area even his yard is not junk. Very neat. I am very impressed with this guy.. never says one cuss word. I believe he can fix anything.

This Honda is one to keep forever. You can’t keep everything, but if you sell this one, I think you’ll really regret it later. Ask a ridiculously high price if you want to sell it — or just keep it. I predict that, unfortunately, someone will actually pay that ridiculous price! Wishing you lots of success with your videos and your new house!

These old Honda fixes are my favorite. Keep it up. I’m learning a lot. You can teach an old dog a new trick!

You need a proper hydrolic working table. Your back is fine right now, but that will not last forever.

The open wires were flexed as the front wheel was turned and eventually "work hardened" and broke open. Thanks for what you do and good job.

Joe the tabs on the condenser are to hold the wires while you solder the wires to them. I never see you put oil on points wick. If you don't points arm will prematurely wear and close up your gap. Great rescue.

Great deal Joe awesome wrenching as always! Found memories as kid on those CT 70 s, my Dad worked as logging truck, heavy equipment mechanic on weekends and owner of said logging company was so cool he bought two CT 70s, basically one for his son and one for his friends, myself to ride. We rode them all day long all over the place, country living in Montana in the 80s, we had no clue how cool we had it!

Hi Joe great job once again , just a quick tip from motorcycle mechanic. Once points are set at correct gap ,move base plate to correct strobe timing rather than adjust points gap .Hope this helps 👍 Also the condenser carries an oiled felt pad to lubricate the points heel. I noticed this was missing.

I didn't learn much this time, you spent to much of the video riding it. Lol !
Don't blame you one bit !
I had a yellow one around 1979 when I was 15 and I was out riding that bike everyday for hours on end it was so much fun, reliable, and durable.
It was in great shape like this one. Got it from a friend who got it from his friend. I paid $50 for it will never forget.
He couldn't get it started. I bought it and was riding it 15 minutes later and he was so mad he sold it.
He got it because it was boggy and dying out. He cleaned the carb. and it never started again. He got mad and sold it to me for $50
I went to take the carb off and noticed the slide wasn't going all the way down. I turned it, throttle worked perfect, fired right up.
He seen me riding it 15 minutes later and he was so mad at himself !!!
Great bikes, worth some money now for sure
