Don't forget that with Arborist skill you are garranted to get the seed for the tree you chopped down. I find that to be the best use of the skill.

Naturalists and prospectors is helpful for people with colour blindness some of the stuff tend to blend in but when the add the glowing effect to them it help

I love careful fisher. It allows me to grab the fish every time because I can try to reel in the fish every time it lunges rather than waiting until it bites. I never feel the need to upgrade my rod with that perk.

I also use Noble as a beginning game perk to build a stable before entering the mines. Might try without it next time though.

I entered the game without knowing that the relationship levels are limits to 4, so yes, indeed choosing musician as my first perk wasn’t the best idea but still I like the npc part and hopefully they expand them soon

Shoutout to my first playthrough being on Grim (the difficulty advertised as the intended experience), I naively thought Musician would be nice since I’d want to befriend everyone faster. As funny as it sounds, it helps cumulatively when NPCs who are your friends gift you items and food. This passive influx of goods can pad the root cellar out, and maybe line your pockets with extra gold. Truly, this is the skill to prove friendship is stronger than the ever growing demands of food rations. Lol

Don't tell the devs, but cardio for 1 skill point ? It's a steal. That thing should cost 2 or 3. Also social sleuth is only for people who don't like wikis xD

IMO, the Chef skill is pretty useful if you're a carnivore, especially in early game. It almost always unlocks the 2 most accessible omnivore recipes; honey fruit skewers and sweet herb tea. Both make for decent, ready-made meals for when you can't afford a barn yet, and you're either having trouble with fishing, or waiting for your fishing rod to upgrade.

Crafter I grabbed early because I wanted to be able to make important stuff. Felt so disappointed when it gave me furniture recipes. I don't decorate.

Noble is good to grab in character creation. That 500 at the start of the game will help you get your first tool upgrade much faster.

If I were to make a skill tier list, without a doubt, there would be a Latrine Tier and Social Sleuth would be its sole resident.

I use the Hot Compost skill because the first town quest requires 100 compost, saving a day in getting that processed can be a huge help, especially when you need so much hard wood, it's hard to make extra compost bins.
