Reposting my comment from your previous video here…
Hey Mat, ex Ferrari tech here from Dubai. Hope your project is going well. I don’t really think you need a brand new HV battery to fix your car. I can give you some tips which could be helpful for your rebuild. Basically, once the car detected a crash, the internal HV contactors will be open inside the HV battery and the HV system will enable HV service mode by itself which will shut off HV during the crash. So you can try one thing that after replacing all airbags including the SRS controller, make sure all the electrical connections are intact including HV connections and CAN bus. Find a scanning tool which is compatible for Hybrid Ferrari architecture, and try to disable HV service mode. Also have to do a proxy alignment since you replaced SRS module. After these steps the car supposed to power up.

Hope to hear the 296 roar soon 🙌

I’m a specialized mechanic in electric and hybrid vehicles. And they NEED a working AC system, and a correct coolant filling procedure for the car to start. Cause the battery isn’t getting cooled cause all the valves are closed. You have to open those with a electric procedure. Hence why the car thinks its going to start on fire (it will if the battery runs without coolant) so try fixing the AC and fill the coolant in a correct way bro! Then it will definitely start!!!

    Hey Matt
Donut maker here.
When you roll the dough of a donut we use a metal wheel to shape out donut and then the donut holes are cooked also. No waste.
Hope this helps.

Cheers mate

Previous Ferrari tech here, upon looking at his wire repair for the module that is bolted on to the rocker panel, it appears that the orange wire that sends signal of hybrid is not properly connected. He should revisit that harness an insure all connections are working and connected properly. When pausing the video it can be seen that the orange wire is not fully seated. Cheers hope this helps

I'm an hvac tech not a auto mechanic but if the a/c system cools the battery the car might have a low pressure cutoff sensor on the compressor making the car aware there is no gas in the system and that might be why its giving the thermal runaway error since it has no way to cool the battery system.

Edit: Quick side note since i saw the grinder come out on the a/c piping I hope you guys blew out any of the debris that got into the pipe as those could damage the compressor or clog a metering device.

Man, you're hitting the Ferrari SGW firewall. It's a total pain on the 296 and SF90..the car lets you read codes but blocks any "write" commands like killing Logistic Mode unless your scanner is officially authorized.
First, to kill that ignition loop, just pop the frunk and pull the negative 12V terminal for 5 mins. That'll force the modules to shut down.
To actually get it out of Logistic Mode:
* The Software Way: If your scanner is an Autel/Texa or Leonardo, it HAS to be on Wi-Fi to ping the AutoAuth servers for a security token. If you're offline, it’ll just keep saying "security access required."
* The Hardware Way: Get a $30 SGW bypass cable (the ones for Alfas/Chryslers work). Plug it directly into the gateway module under the dash to bypass the lockout entirely.
Once the firewall is open, the "Ignition Off" command the tool sends will actually work. Good luck!

You mentioned before that the air con is used to cool the battery, so why not get the air co fixed and charged just incase it is that that is causing the issue.

I love how Mat’s video on the 296 and the struggles of the 296 not starting summoned all the Ex-Ferrari technicians to the comments who all wanna help get the car started again. Gotta love the car community for stuff like this:)

I wonder when Mat Armstrong will design/build his own supercar from available parts and release the plans to the public as a kit.
