The Lieutenant lost both legs and dad eventually lost one of his.

  When you fight for 3 days taking a hill only to give it back your unit will have a hard time staying motivated. What the politicians did to our brave men was inexcusable

  I served 1st of the 5th cav June 1970,71...moral was low..no one wanted to take unnecessary chances..somehow some us survived it

  The army should have &nbsp;had code words set up when the radio was not secured so that &nbsp;those men was almost &nbsp;killed by a bombing run.

  I received my orders to Vietnam, and it was September or October 1970, and I was stationed at Fort Ord, California. I&apos;m sitting in the company dayroom watching TV, and here comes a movie about this very infantry company: the rebellion. Rebellion! Unheard of for US Army troops refusing orders to advance down a road, where these grunt guys decide not a good idea for them to make. The Vietnam War decades ago for... I made it out in one piece, so I thought! If you went to Vietnam, then you know what I am talking about.... Companions came home to.

  I served in the Army during 1969/70 and would simply say that morale had deteriorated significantly by then. Drug use was more common and anti-war activity was prevalent. &quot;FTA all the way&quot; was a mantra uttered by enlisted soldiers as a sort of greeting.
