This film was a love letter to Star Trek

While it was a parody of the whole genre, they didn't insult their target audience. They treated the fans with great respect.

Also Sam Rockwells SCREAM was adlibbed... so Weavers started look was actually genuine 🤣 10:32

Hello from Salzburg, Austria. It´s great to re-watch one of your favourite movies "together" with someone who utterly gets it. Thank you. 🙂

Congratulations on 2k subs :) This is probably my favorite Alan Rickman performance. This film is highly regarded by Star Trek fans AND actors as being an unofficial Star Trek movie. Some call it a "parody" but it's not. It's a love letter to Trek and fandomship in general.

Sigourney Weaver’s swear was dubbed because they decided in post-production to make it PG. that’s also why Tony Shaloub’s pot scene was cut. I think it was a good choice, because it makes the film even funnier—as well as family friendly, which Star Trek was at the time.

I always get choked up when Allen Rickman finally says his hated line and finally gets it and means it.

My favorite lines - “Miners, not minors” and “Then it exploded”.

The scream from Sam Rockwell was ad libed. That was why Sigourny Weaver flinched when he screamed.

The delivery of "and it exploded" cracks me up every time. Peak comedy ... deadpan delivery of an absurd line.

38:50 18 years was the gap between the end of ST:TOS and the beginning of ST:TNG. ;)
