3 Bids from other contractors can sometimes be doable on the spot…”our family friend who does HVAC is coming out tomorrow” has been much harder to overcome.

I have often found out that telling customer not to do something that is logical always backfires. I would do the opposite and tell him he should definitely go for three bids and then ask him why and what he is looking for with the other bids and then offer him assurances

There are two types of hvac contractors ethical and none , moral and none moral, if you get one bid chances are you get a bad contractor right off the get go if you get two bids you cut that in half if you get 3+ bids you cutting your chances of getting taking advantage of
