  As a violin teacher for over 30 years, I heartily agree with everything you  said in the video! I used to be against these things, but I have found the bow hold buddies SO helpful especially for: 1) students coming from other places that learned very poor bow hold for many years and need correction; 2) adult students for the very reasons that you mentioned,  and 3) young students who need help with forming their bow hold. The one drawback with them is the price. I have several sets that I loan to students who need them, then pass them along when they outgrow the need for them.  Thanks for sharing!

  Ooohhhh, dit moet ik hebben! 😍 Helaas is mijn motoriek door ziekte erg achteruitgegaan en ik merk dat vooral mijn rechterhand snel verkrampt. Dit zou dat probleem wel eens op kunnen lossen. 😍

  Although I began playing as a child, I did not develop a good bow hold until I went with a better teacher in high school. There were no aids like these. My struggle remains keeping my thumb bent. My hands are small and my thumb will go through the space in front of the frog. And now that my hands are becoming arthritic I've thought about how these devices may help me keep playing. Thank you for this interesting video!

  I got one of those last year and it sure did help my bow hold. I got one like the purple one you got.

  At 76 I am just learning to play the viola and the challenge for me is mild arthritis in my right hand. As a result I was holding onto the bow to tightly and was having issues with fatigue as well as problems with the bow bouncing. Also, I was not possible for mew to keep my pinky finger on the bow. I purchased the 2 piece one that you showed first and is was an instant improvement.I also noticed that it keeps my hand in a proper position and I am having less issues with the bow traveling towards the bridge. I do have the frog placed differently however, I angled it about 40 degrees forward and is it less restrictive to my movements while maintaining bow control. While I hope to remove the frog at some point, I will probably keep the one for the pinky permanently.

  I just used the pinky nest and this solved my slippy pinky problem instantly. I am now holding the bow with 100% confident. The little plastic seemed expensive at first before using, but after you use it and has the problem fixed, it is well well deserved.  Thank very much indeed for your recommendation!
