  Closure is extremely important for someone whose mind needs the truth to rest. I’m still traumatized from my college gf after twenty years because of her infidelity and my not ever really knowing the full truth about what happened. Some people seem to get off on keeping you confused so you can never really heal.

  I'm in financial ruin. I was with a narcissist for 8 years.  I financed her entire life.  I was in the process of trying to get out when she got a DUI and then told me we were broken up.  I was ecstatic she made the decision because I was working on it and I knew when I told her I was done she may have tried to kill or destroy me.   I have nightmares about her to this day.  The people are absolutely pure evil.  But it is our duty to learn from what we endured.  I put up with her for 8 hellish years.  I let it happen because she manipulated me and I was convinced she just needed the right medicine or therapy.  I lost so much money because of her and she tried to steal the home I bought and payed for for us.  I feel like a fool all the time. I wonder where I would be had I never met her.  I haven't even been on a date since it ended and she for sure had the next guy lined up while she was still with me.  All I do is go to work then go home every day.  Nothing else.  Idk what to do with myself at all.

  She messed up his view of the world: he became cynical, calculating and exploitative towards other people. It may also be a defence mechanism in his psyche to avoid pain: 'I had better cause others pain than have someone else do that to me.' The tables are turned.

  I just got discarded by a covert narcissist and while I grieved for a month, I am finding out so many chilling things about the condition that were true about them. I am committed to not perpetuating any damage they may have caused me. I have a therapist and am self-aware enough to heal properly. Life will be better
