  That’s exactly what I did when I purchased. My last car acted like I was financing, I finance the car and two days later I paid it off in cash👏👏👍

  The dealership isn&apos;t selling cars, it&apos;s selling financing, warranties, and add-ons. <br><br>The car just gets you into the building. Once you understand that, a lot of &quot;great deals&quot; start looking very different

  As a salesman, I’ve had a customer tell me they were financing and negotiated the out the door price really hard before wanting to run credit claiming they were an 800 score. We ultimately agreed to numbers. When I came to bring the credit app, they told me, actually we’ll be paying cash. <br>I was happy we made the sale, my managers were very upset.

  That’s exactly how I bought my last car. I financed it at first, but then paid off the entire balance in cash just two days later.

  Every dealer in my state (PA) charges a &quot;documentation fee&quot; of $490 per car, new or used car, and that phony fee is usually hidden in the very small print on their Internet advertising. &nbsp;Nearly 500 bucks to do a few minutes of paperwork that for many years, had been part of the car-buying process, at no extra charge. &nbsp;It&apos;s a scam, but a legal one.

  Always look at the mfg date on the door sticker. That will tell you how long the car has been at the Dlr. Long time = lower price.
