  I went to Picasso Dental! I got a deep clean for $120. USA would be about 1300. Staff was very professional, attentive, all new facilities and machinery, spoke English well. Best dental experience I ever had. So much better service than in US.

  When I was young in the 80's, Vietnam did not have enough doctors for the whole country. So nurses and military trained nurses were trained to work like doctors and dentists. You know what these nurse trained doctors do better jobs than doctors because they have done thousands of real operations more than doctors with higher education but less hours in practice. Now, more doctors are graduated and licensed so they don't use nurses anymore, plus people are more healthy and less sick than before.

  Health insurance here in the US is a mess. &nbsp;High premiums, high deductibles, high co pay. &nbsp; And when you go to the doctor, you fill out endless forms. &nbsp;Then you get a bill two months later. &nbsp; Pay that and you get another bill 3 months later. &nbsp; You call and ask questions about it only to get confusing answers.<br><br>Dental appointments are booked at least 1 month in advance. &nbsp;<br><br><br>I’ve used the dental office and hospital in Da Nang. &nbsp;Quick, cheap and to the point. &nbsp;In fact I went to the hospital got, checked in, paid $20, got a blood test and results, x-ray within 1.5 hours. &nbsp; And I got refund of $5 at check out. &nbsp; It’s a different but better world.

  Thanks for the informative video Mark. I was in Da Nang in September for major dental work. 2 implants, 6 crowns and 2 root canals. Cost was 1/5th of cost in Canada and I am very happy with the results. I visited 3 clinics that I had selected prior to arrival for assessments and x-rays and chose TGM Dental to do the work. I will return in late January for 6 weeks to complete the implants and vacation.

  Great summary of all the costs, Mark! I did an MRI for my brain recently, and it cost me almost $800 with high deductible insurance. I recognized the same waiting area at VinMec that Dan Bell visited for his heart scan. I definitely would go there, or in Saigon, for mine in the future.<br><br>I&apos;m also looking forward to going to the dentist in Vietnam as well.
