Vietnam vs Thailand: Which Is Better for Cheap Self-Care?

What does a full self-care day in Da Nang, Vietnam REALLY cost? Today I'm taking you along for a full spa day at one of my favorite places, Lani Spa, where I get a manicure, pedicure, facial, and massage. And along the way, I meet an Australian expat living in Thailand who shares her first impressions of Da Nang. What is it REALLY like to spend a relaxing day at a spa in Da Nang, Vietnam? I've been coming to Lani Spa for years, and today I'm taking you along for a full self-care day. We go behind the scenes of the manicure and pedicure, check out how some of the treatments are done differently here compared with the United States, and finish things off with a facial and massage. And because you never quite know what is going to happen when you're filming in Da Nang, I also end up having a surprise conversation with Simone, an Australian who has been living and working remotely in Thailand. We talk about her life in Thailand, her five-year visa, traveling around the country, working remotely, and why she might be tempted to move to Da Nang because of the food! 🇻🇳 What is a self-care day like in Da Nang? 💅 What does a manicure and pedicure cost? 💆 How much does a massage cost in Vietnam? 🧖 What is a typical facial like at a Vietnamese spa? ☕ Why did I sneak out for a coffee between treatments? 🇺🇸 What do Vietnamese spas do differently from those in the United States? 🇦🇺 Who is the Australian expat I meet at the spa? 🇹🇭 Why did she choose Thailand for long-term living? 🍜 What does she think about Da Nang after her first visit? 💰 And how much did my entire half-day spa experience cost? The final bill for the manicure, pedicure, facial, and massage came to 1,150,000 Vietnamese dong, or about $44 USD. Add a 100K dong tip for Mia, and the entire experience came to about $52 USD.
