  Ohhhh god. I am watching this as a British Army veteran and a cadet forces adult volunteer instructor and you really haven&apos;t done British MRE&apos;s justice. I&apos;d be more than happy to show you what the current MRE are like, and actually how to cook it. And it wouldn&apos;t be the first time I had met Mike and Jamie either. Get in touch guys if you do another MRE vid and we can re do British MREs

  As an old infantryman in the U.S. &nbsp;I ate more than my share of MREs and one of the things you learn is not to eat them as is, but rather develop specific kinds of combinations to make things better. &nbsp;For instance, with the Latvian MRE, I would have put the roasted lentils in through the main dish for three reasons. &nbsp;First to give the lentils better flavor, second to give the main better texture (they are always mushy), Third &nbsp;(and often most important) to eat it faster. &nbsp;The creativity of hungry soldiers to combine individual nearly inedible elements into much more palatable food is amazing.

  Back in the &apos;90&apos;s, Danish soldiers were complaining about their MRE&apos;s so a Danish comedian campaigned to get into our parlament (Folketinget) with a promise to put Nutella in these MRE&apos;s. He won a seat and he actually got Nutella into the MRE&apos;s. 🙂

  with those old MREs, when they hiss its actually a good thing. because that means no air has gotten inside it, meaning its still sealed and fresh. it also means it hasnt been rotting in there either.
