  Velma didn’t just fail it’s main character, it failed everyone involved. Especially it’s audience.

  Harley Quinn, in her show, actually CARES about her fellow super villain friends. That&apos;s how weirdly messed up this is. Harley, who&apos;s a notable VILLAIN, actually gives a damn, Velma, who&apos;s supposed to be the HERO, acts incredibly scummy.

  I love that Mindy said she wanted to make a show based on &quot;the one who actually solved the mysteries&quot; and then the show has literally everyone else solving her mystery

  With this Velma thing, they would have made it about a fan girl from the &quot;mystery gang&quot; (who would also be called Velma) who tries to solve her own mysteries Velma-style (which doesn&apos;t work for her at first) and then with help of friends would form their own group and use their own way of solving crimes

  It’s funny how Fred, the actual strawman that you’re supposed to hate more than Velma, is more likable than her simply due to the fact that his bad actions are consistently not being excused by the writers.

  This is going to be a weird comparison, but Velma makes me miss The Amazing World of Gumball, in the way that they handle meta jokes and satire.<br><br>In Gumball, when they would make jokes about modern topics in different episodes (ie shipping culture in “The Shippening” or JRPGs and Gaming culture in “The Console”) it never felt like they were just pointing out clichés just for the hell of it, but were actually just poking fun at them without actually trying to insult its audience.<br><br>(Plus Gumball was actually funny)

  Makes me so glad that a show like Smiling Friends exists. While it does have dark jokes, it&apos;s one of the few adult cartoons where the main characters are likable. Even Charlie, who is written as a cynical person, is still a pretty chill guy.

  I was immediately lost at Velma cheating off anyone’s homework much less Norville’s (Shaggy). That’s how I know they didn’t get the spirit of these characters

  You know what&apos;s funny? All I&apos;m hearing from the 2nd half is how everyone BUT Velma is good at solving mysteries and together they&apos;d make a killer mystery solving gang
