  My best friend was my maid of honor. She’s also way prettier than me. She’s also smarter, more talented, less mentally damaged, and generally better than me in every way. And you know what? I love that for her! I was glad she stood up there with me. I was glad she looked gorgeous next to me. And we had a great time. And also, I never felt overshadowed. I was happy because I loved the man I was marrying and I loved my best friend and I loved my ceremony and my reception. <br><br>Brides who talk shit about how people look in their bridal party are all being monsters. There are ZERO acceptable reasons to cut out someone you love for appearance.

  I sort of feel like the &quot;girlfriend who loves weddings&quot; may have wanted to show her BF what she would look like as a bride so he would propose and she could be a bride for real. This would explain why she got so mad at his very reasonable suggestion.
