  Thank you for being succinct. <br><br>Decades ago I researched diaries and notebooks, planners and organisers, diy and commercial etcetera etcetera etcetera. As you implied trial and error revealed what works for me... 80% structured 20% free form. <br><br>I settled on a travellers notebook with a custom week to a page notes diary, and other permanent and temporary inserts.<br><br>I do experiment with new to me ideas... with the collins a5 school diary initially setting the stage, with bullet journal and recently everbook being support acts... but I return to grid and dot grid pasport or fieldnotes sized notebooks with a modified cornell method outline. <br><br>My River Song Travellers Notebook from Altguild on etsy has been my constant companion even on my honeymoon. <br><br>I have a complicated relationship with sticky notes,

  I recently discovered a habit changing approach to habit trackers. On YT, but I can’t remember where, so sorry! Don’t leave days you didn’t do the thing blank. Having to note in the tracker that you didn’t do it (active language), as opposed to looking back and seeing it wasn’t done (passive), is a subtle shift but it can spark something in you to do better - or have an honest dialogue with yourself about just how important that thing is and whether you are actually committed or not. I now cross off the days I did the things but draw a large empty box a little inside the margins of the square when I didn’t. If there was good reason not to have done it, e.g. I was ill, I put a tiny cross in the newly drawn box.
