I think one of the biggest problems today is obsession. People become so obsessed with one goal — money, success, fitness, appearance, fame, or some big idea — that they forget the most important thing: to actually live.

There is nothing wrong with being strong, ambitious, or having goals. But when one goal becomes your entire life, you stop noticing life itself — people, nature, conversations, quiet moments, and the world around you.

Sometimes we become so focused on building a better body or a better future that we forget to experience the life we already have.

As someone approaching 50 it's no longer about ego or vanity. It's about longevity and health. So happy I never got into PEDs though. I feel sorry for younger lifters today. The pressure to use PEDs at younger and younger ages is intense today.

Great doc! I'm in my late 40s, work out myself, and agree that sports are the best natural medicine for the mind and immune system. However, I also see guys in the studio with unnatural muscle masses – honestly, it doesn't look good anymore. Muscles don't define a man. True masculinity is about not talking trash, being emotionally stable, having principles, staying loyal, and being able to show weakness. A selfish meathead with no character, who only thinks about training, can't hold onto a down-to-earth woman. Inner balance is what matters.

"Being stronger doesn't really matter to me, it's about aesthetics." What an absolute shame and a waste. There are SO many things you can do for the sheer joy of it if you have a fit body, so many activities for the fun and adventure - Skiing, surfing, mountain climbing, snow boarding, rock climbing, scuba-diving, ice skating, dancing, etc, etc - and the fact there's so little curiosity in exploring that is tragic to me. You could have LIVED with that body, instead you chased vanity alone.

Young men can feel very insecure and modern society especially social media is unfair and judgemental. Being mentally strong is very important to recognize everyone's uniqueness and guards against intimidation.

I have a friend who has worked out for years, even if he is drug free and have trained for years and he look absolutely incredible, he still think he need to take drugs. Social media destroys peoples' perception.

When I was 16 we were also obssessed with bodybuilding and some of my friends took steroids. I remember two of them having bowel cancer by the time they got to 21. Thats when I realised that feeling better is more important then looking better.
