  An important one missing (no fact check): The design of the Reliant originally had the nacelle on the top.  When the boss who received the fax and signed off the design, the signature put it upside down.  In order not to cause further delay, they decided to adopt that inverted design and became what it appeared now in the movie.

  Chekov and Khan didn’t have to meet for Khan to know his face. Remember all those library tapes Khan was allowed to read in Sickbay?  Chekov was in that material as personnel being trained as a weapons operator to replace the Weapons Operator who was reassigned as an envoy to the First Federation’s Presarious, he left in the Corbomite Maneuver Episode, and Khan saw he was being trained on the specifics of operating Constitution Class Weapons, something that Khan was highly interested in learning how to operate and Chekov was in rotation in Forward Phasor control becoming familiar with the weapons systems and what key systems failures can prevent the Phasers from being fired, making Photon Torpedoes the only way to fire in battle under certain conditions. Chekov would also be fully trained and oriented in Constitution Class Engineering, Navigation, Science, and Communications systems and these Bridge and Auxiliary Control stations and Command, as all Bridge Officers are fully Cross Trained to instantly take over any Bridge Position in the event of the injury or death any other Bridge personnel in the heat of a battle. So Chekov would have been a wild card that Khan would want to neutralize if he succeeded in taking over the Enterprise, since Chekov could be the Officer that knows too much and could hit from left field and regain control of the stolen Enterprise in the Episode Space Seed. khan managed to access Starfleet Personnel Assignments to Enterprise, and Chekov was definitely on his radar!

  With so much video clips available, the video segments could have coordinated with the narrative much better. Also, the AI voice pronunciation of some of the words and names was annoying.

  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ytJdkC0IzEY&amp;t=1040">17:20</a> That shot of Kirk and Spock talking in the corridor with the large glass space globe was all a practical visual effect to disguise what was actually a bare soundstage &nbsp;with just a few chairs, a window and a turbolift door in the background. &nbsp;Everything else - the walls, pillar, plants, circular ceiling , the globe and even the stairs - was actually a small maquette placed right in front of the camera to give the impression of Kirk and Spock standing in a plush corridor in Starfleet Academy.

  The Genesis Effect sequency cost me several years of life and produced some interesting effects. When I saw the film I was strongly wanting to leave graduate school. My PhD advisor was the same advisor for the folks who invented the fractal mountains (Don Fussell, and Alain Fournier), btw. I saw the film and was inspired to stick it out. Ultimately my thesis topic was way too far ahead of its time and I bailed on grad school anyway (several more years into the process) but later I went back to the film industry and invented Shape Driven Warping and Morphing (Forest Gump, for example, in 1994). I received a SciTech Academy Award in 1996 pretty much because of the Genesis scene in 1982.
