I was born in Canada and lived here for 70 years. I've always liked really good bread of all kinds that can only be had at small bakeries not on the shelves of big grocery chains. I know the sourdough bread that the Albanian lady speaks of. There is a little farm market near my house that bakes a batch once a week, in house. When you pick some up on baking day and it is still warm, there are no words for how good it is. She is also correct that the good bread here is $7 or $8 dollars and the crappy stuff in the grocery chains is $2 a loaf.

Here in Canada, most people that like sourdough bread have the starter dough and make their own.

No one in my lifetime 70 years has paid 4500$ for snow removal? Any self respecting canadian shovels his own driveway.

Tipping became customary in many places in Canada because servers in restaurants earned significantly less than minimum wage. That is no longer the case in Ontario. Stop tipping them unless you get excellent service at sit down restaurants, and don't tip anyone who is standing at a counter, or give minimal effort in serving you.

If someone comes to my door to ask if I want my walk shovelled now, I say yes. I’m 73. But doesn’t happen too often, so I’m shovelling.
