  The news that a UPS MD-11 had crashed in Louisville immediately gave me the shakes. &nbsp;I had a friend who was a UPS pilot, flying MD-lls from there. &nbsp;I quickly tried to contact him but couldn&apos;t. &nbsp;Eventually, I learned that my friend, Richard Wartenberg, was the captain on this flight &nbsp;I was stunned, and almost a month later I have still not recovered. &nbsp;Our shared interests in aviation and old Porsches (years ago, I had sold him my own 911) meant that we stayed in touch. &nbsp;Evidently the crew had no chance to fully apply their flying skills. &nbsp;The investigation will be thorough, and thank you for not speculating about the cause. &nbsp;The news that all other MD-11s have been grounded offers the hope that the deaths of this crew may not be totally in vain but will result in preventative work to keep others safe. &nbsp;Thank you.

  Right after this accident was the first time I realised the NTSB briefings were available on their Youtube channel (and that they had one!). Absolutely worth following. I was impressed by how well and clear they briefed, how the situation clearly sits with them emotionally, but they don&apos;t lose the human touch when interacting with people from the press that they already knew, all while maintaining a very clear structure to it all.

  As a mechanic this accident is horrifying. It is a sad reminder of the dangers of aviation. I am so happy to see that there&apos;s a complete lack of speculation in the videos coming from Mentour and a push for only the facts. Keep up the professional and fantastic work!

  What I find incredible is the calmness of pilots who probably know they are about to die, they don&apos;t give up, they keep trying to the end. Kudos.

  I think it’s fair to say that the pilots did absolutely everything they could to save the aircraft but from the moment the engine separated their fate was sealed. It’s going to interesting to see what the cause was

  I had the unfortunate situation as I was at the airport when this occurred as an Uber driver, waiting in the Uber lot on the other end of the airport near the terminal. It was easy to see what happened because I always park facing the runways and tune into live ATC as I am an aviation enthusiast non-pilot. It was a tragic day for all of us here in Louisville our hearts go out to the families on the ground and the families of the three personnel in the cockpit. UPS is a great provider for much income in our city and anything bad that happens to them happens to our city. I appreciate all the coverage the Mentor now and Metro pilot has done on this incident in the most responsible way possible the report has been out for a little while, and you guys have taken your time in assessing your viewsbefore making this podcast. We appreciate it very much thank you you as always. I write this while wearing my positive attitude T-shirt, I received from your channel thank you very much Chef Brian K Louisville, Kentucky.

  This was another wonderful presentation given by Ben. By refusing to even hint at what may have happened from atart to finish, you and Petter strive to give only eatablished facts. This was, is, and will likely always remain my preferred aviation channel/company. Mentour Pilot is the best -- bar none.

  I truly have to say, the addition of Ben to the Mentour Pilot world has to be one of the smoothest of all time in the YouTube world. And even though they didn’t fly for the same airline, it does also give a nice example of how for most large airlines, pilots can work really well with each other even if they haven’t met before or only flew with someone maybe one or two times.

  I&apos;m still processing this whole event as someone who lives in Louisville, grew up with family businesses on Grade Lane, works at UPS&apos;s Worldport, and is a student pursuing an A&amp;P (aircraft maintainence) license. Just for a little insight into how significant it was for UPS, our night sort was completely shut down the night of the accident and optional for part time employees the day after. I&apos;ve been there about a year and that&apos;s only happened twice, once for severe weather and the other for the crash. Their night operation brings about 10,000 people to Worldport every day, even more around this time (peak season). A complete shutdown is nearly unheard of for UPS. The day after was very odd around my work area. Running at maybe a third of our normal crew meant a lot of groups were merged to run one area at full capacity instead of several at half capacity, and the mood was pretty grim. I work in the Worldporf Freight Facility, the sock shaped building to the east of the south tip of the runway involved, and since then it&apos;s had a certain smell to it when it rains. Something like that happening in our back yard is something I never expected to happen, let alone during my time working there. I really appreciate you not speculating or making wild claims about the accident like some seriously ignorant folks online recently have been.
