  I really appreciate Megan's preparation for these podcasts.  She asks solid questions and does so very consistently.  It is just as important as the knowledgable answers that Bart gives.

  One thing: Peter did not cut the ear off of a roman soldier - had he done that, he almost certainly would have been killed on the spot by the soldier's comrades, one would think.  He cut the ear off of Malchus, the slave of one of the pharisees.

  Wonderful podcast, as usual.  Especially the part about the gospels not being written to convert people, but written to various early Christian communities to convey the anonymous authors’ understanding(s) of who Jesus really was.  Brilliant.

  Love your work Bart, but I want to point out Jesus had Greek followers and Canaanite followers, Simon was a Canaanite and Luke was a Hellenistic Jew and doctor. Early Christians were diverse there were Canaanite, essene, Jewish mystics, Persian and Greek converts. During Jesus time the Saducees were Hellenistic Jews, the Herodians were too, its likely Jesus borrowed from the Essenes or came from an essene background. It's possible he could have had a Canaanite background in respect to the phoneicians, some scholars even debate a Hellenistic jewish background and a mystic Jewish background which would now be identifiedas Gnosticor proto Gnostic.  I love your book the Lost scriptures 10/10. I always highly recommend it to all my friends. Bless you Bart, had to comment again, Youtube swapped the video over, and I commented on the wrong one 😆 my bad
