Sad when the biggest retirement expense is now health insurance.

It’s easier to retire on a low income when you stay out of debt and have a home paid off.

I'm retiring on March 31! I will have about 3/4 million with no mortgage! I'll be 59 in Aug and feel so blessed!

I work in a nursing home and most of those people talk about how much they qualified for in aid compared to their peers that had a retirement fund their friends didn't qualify for any aid and paid double for insurance. People get penalized for saving.

If you live below your means during your working years, you'll probably be safe in retirement. If you spend everything you make while you work, well, you're screwed.

I keep telling young people, work hard while you're young, because it isn't easy when you're older.

Hubby is 60, I am almost 57. We are not going to have anywhere near what we should. At some point though hubby is going to just throw in the towel, and we will learn to live on what we have.

The crazy thing these days is property taxes and insurances. We have had everything paid for since 2007 and every year the expenses just keep climbing with property and all insurances ex healthcare costing over 12K a year. I truly believe once you hit 65 real estate taxes should go away to help seniors.

I'm 55, and I consider myself very fortunate that I had my eyes opened and caught on early enough to plan.

Finally, a realistic video on how much money one would need in retirement. Also, a big thanks for using the median and not the average.

If I kept listening to so-called experts, I would still be working. I retired at 64 but should have gone out two years earlier. You are right, using the Median seems like the more logical methodology. Thanks for your great videos!
