We live in the great basin. Love the drain idea. I have to tranch any ways for electrical, plumbing, irrigation, and minor foubdation work - might as well get double or tripple duty from those trenches.

Great information. <br>If you had access to both the top (home) and bottom (intake) of you pipe, could you apply a strong vacuum at the intake and pull a string through the length of the pipe?<br>Using the string, you could pull a larger paracord then a swab through the pipe, cleaning it. Kind of like a bore snake you'd use to clean a gun barrel.

How about a hydronic system? Newer fluid circulator pumps (like on boilers) are low wattage and one could bury a length of one inch pex tubing with some glycol mix in it. There would be the problem of a heat exchanger installed in the house, or in new construction circulate through an in-wall radiant system.

What occurs to me now is that, besides cooling my greenhouse, I could also collect water from the system to use for irrigation, since I live in a humid area.
