  People back then survived blizzards with candles and grit. We lose Wi-Fi for an hour and call it a crisis. ❄😂

  The contrast between March 10th, when people were enjoying the mildest weather in nearly two decades and Walt Whitman submitted a poem about dandelions, and the catastrophe that hit just two days later is truly chilling. No one, from the weather service to the weather-wise old-timers saw it coming. That sense of being safe and protected in the unexpected warmth, only to wake up to a howling storm monster is a terrifying deception. It really makes you think about how vulnerable we all are to Mother Nature.

  Derbyshire,England. I didn’t know anything about this, so Thankyou for making this video. I will now remember the year it happened too, as 1888 was the year of the Whitechapel murders in London (Jack the Ripper)

  Ohio 11:30 pm. Anyone remember the great blizzard of 1978?  100 mph winds and white out conditions.  90 people died and we were all told to stay home.
